Ryo-Ohki is Ryoko's space ship, which was destroyed along with Ayeka's in episode 2. In episode 3, Ryoko salvages an egg from the wreakage, which she says is her and Tenchi's child. Mr. Masaki welcomes this and proclaims Tenchi a man, while Aeka denies it. Of course, like most of Ryoko's exclaimations, it was not true.
When Ryo-Ohki is born Mr. Masaki, as well as Tenchi and Aeka, and Sasami, were puzzled. Mr. Masaki even said it looked like Tenchi. It didn't take long for everyone to notice it wasn't Ryoko's and Tenchi's doing.
They were puzzled by the way it looked, a mix between a cat, and a rabbit. Hence the name Cabbit came to be known. That is how he is born.Ryo-Ohki can fly after a few episodes, and becomes the main basis for travel in the Tenchi saga. Ryo-Ohki also has the ability to assimilate into new physical forms, and go through a door. (only on the second try)
